Students Helping Students

What is Students Helping Students?

Students Helping Students is the philanthropic mission of the IU Student Foundation. Created to nurture a culture of student philanthropy at Indiana University, this initiative comes alive during the spring semester through a dynamic, peer-to-peer fundraising campaign.

We believe in empowering IU students to make a meaningful impact now, emphasizing that generosity knows no waiting period. Each year, the campaign raises funds for a student-selected cause dedicated to directly assisting students on the Bloomington campus.

Prioritizing mental health

For the 2025 Students Helping Students campaign, we are proud to announce our partnership with the Office of the Vice President for Student Success. Together, we are on a mission to destigmatize mental health care on the IU Bloomington campus.

We are excited to channel our collective efforts toward creating a campus environment that fosters understanding, support, and open dialogue about mental well-being.

Did you know that the 2024 Students Helping Students campaign raised more than $60,000 in total funds? Those funds will be used, in part, to establish The Oasis, a designated mental health space coming to the Herman B Wells Library in 2025. The initiative is an important component of Students Helping Students’ mission to help destigmatize mental health care on the IU Bloomington campus.
